The Bessie R. Hargest Health Sciences Scholarship Foundation, a 501 c3 organization, was founded in July 2018. The foundation’s primary focus is devoted to helping students from all cultural and economic backgrounds gain access to higher education.  Through scholarships, we are committed to promoting excellence in nursing education to help build a strong and diverse nursing workforce.  We feel that education can make a profound difference in an individual’s life and in accordance with the vision of our beloved family matriarch Bessie Raye Middleton Hargest.
